She has spent most of her career implementing and overseeing innovative coverage in lifestyle section s—Travel, Food, Arts & Entertainment as well as covering news events including the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the homeless crisis in Los Angeles for big media companies. Kate has created and launched the DALA Photo Festival whose mission is to explore, inspire and amplify the love of photography, its practitioners and adjacent creative communities.

She is also an entrepreneur, patent holder, who along with a partner invented and launched a small travel supply company called Fly Tot.
