Katherine has always been into travel – in her time at Elon University, she studied abroad three separate times, and followed this with a year-long fellowship in Thessaloniki, Greece – but her love of food and food writing only came about in 2016, when she started interning at Saveur Magazine. Through that job, she had the opportunity to visit lots of places, including markets in Oaxaca and communities along the Amazon River. However, she always came back to Greece, and now she’s based in Athens, where she does consulting, freelance writing and video editing, and manages social media accounts for various Greece-based restaurants and food brands.
