Sherri Eisenberg’s first cruise was on the now-defunct Home Lines’ Oceanic when she was just a toddler. Family lore has it that the whole ship got seasick except for Sherri, who could be found sitting in the mostly empty dining room eating her first lobster. Since then, she has spent decades writing about cruising for numerous publications, including Travel + Leisure, Bon Appètit, Condé Nast Traveler, the Los Angeles Times and Departures. Sherri, who lives in New York City, keeps a bag packed so that she can hop a flight – or a ship – at a moment’s notice.
