Around the World in 60 Cocktails: Right of Passage

There is a common theory among travelers that Antarctica needs to be earned. That, like most things in life, the journey that every traveler has dreams of making does not come without its price tag. And the cost of stepping foot on the frozen white continent? The epic Drake Passage.

The peace and serenity of the Antarctic are matched by the might of the Passage. They are two sides of the same coin; like love and marriage, you don’t get one without the other. Two days are needed to cross the legendary body of water. As you gaze upon the rookeries of albatross overhead and marvel at the pods of whales beneath the waves you can say that yes, you truly deserve Antarctica.

Named after the renowned navigator Sir Francis Drake, the Passage is truly a traveler’s right, as well as rite, of passage. We have injected a little Silversea humor into what is reputed to be the roughest sea-passage in the world and created a unique twist on the classic Dark & Stormy.
