The former travel editor of the Dallas Morning News and Coastal Living magazine, his work has appeared in BBC Travel, the Washington Post, and many other publications. He founded CivilRightsTravel.com, an online travel guide to historic sites, and served as President of the Society of American Travel Writers in 2020-2021.
