Around the World in 60 Cocktails: End of the World
Argentina has been topping travelers’ wishlists for years. From fiery sunsets to sultry dances, world-class football to award-winning wine, this is one country that is a cocktail all to itself. And yet, it is the country’s expansive landscape that continues to seduce its visitors. The South American nation is home to the some of the world’s highest peaks, tallest waterfalls and largest glaciers. It’s also where you’ll find the southernmost city on Earth, literally at the very edge of civilization.
Located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago at the southernmost tip of South America, Ushuaia is a must-have passport stamp for everyone. The city carries the nickname the “End of the World” because there is simply nothing else – except just one landmark – between Ushuaia and Antarctica.
That landmark is, of course, the vibrant red and white striped Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, and we thought this iconic landmark deserved a drink to match. Using fruity Malbec wine for local flavor and Swedish vodka for an icy touch, you don’t need to go to the far reaches of our planet to sample our version of the End of the World.
